Which cup of coffee does my spiritual life reflect?

Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Have you ever seen someone take a drink of something unexpectedly bitter or distasteful, like salt water? It quickly comes flying out of their mouth! I can’t
help but get that picture in my mind when I read this verse.
So, where does a cup of coffee fit into this picture? Even when drinking coffee, tea, or chocolate, we like it HOT or Cold. Lukewarm, just doesn’t taste good. When you are home, if you are like me, you make a cup of coffee, take a few
sips, start on some task, and when you go back, your coffee is no longer hot. As
a matter of fact, it is lukewarm and disgusting. Sound familiar?
When we dine out, and order a cup of coffee, the waitress is always refilling our cup keeping our coffee nice and hot. How pleasant it is to sip on the coffee, which is hot and pleasing to taste.
Now for the question………. is my personal spiritual walk like the cup of coffee
at the house or the cup of coffee at the restaurant? Do I invest time actively pursuing a closer relationship with the Lord? Am I continually refilling
my spiritual walk keeping it hot (Bible reading, prayer, fellowship with other Christians,) or am I happy to attend church occasionally, and then go on about things as normal letting my spiritual walk become lukewarm?

Prayer
Oh Gracious Heavenly Father, I desire to have a relationship with you that
never become lukewarm or cold. I want to be on fire for you. Help me, Oh Lord, to remove barriers in my life that are keeping me from having that relationship with you. In Jesus name. Amen
